NHS and private dentistry by the Kennet
Kennet Bridge Dental is a mixed practice. Most routine care — check-ups, fillings, extractions — is available on the NHS. We also offer private treatment where you want more choice: in materials, in appointment times, or in treatments the NHS does not fund, such as aligners, implants or whitening. We tell you which category every treatment falls into, and what it costs, before you agree to anything.

NHS charges, in full
Every NHS course of treatment falls into one of three bands. Correct as of 1 April 2026.
Band 1
£27.90
An examination, diagnosis and advice. Includes any X-rays you need, a scale and polish if it is clinically necessary, and preventive care such as fluoride varnish.
Band 2
£76.60
Everything in Band 1, plus further treatment such as fillings, root canal work, or taking out a tooth.
Band 3
£332.10
Everything in Band 1 and 2, plus more complex work such as crowns, dentures, bridges and other laboratory-made items.

Check-up and examination
£27.90 — A full look at your teeth, gums and mouth, with advice on how often you need to come back.
Fillings
£76.60 — Repairing a tooth damaged by decay, using a tooth-coloured or silver amalgam filling.
Tooth extraction
£76.60 — Removing a tooth that is too damaged or infected to save.
